How big do rabbits get?

The size of a rabbit can vary depending on the breed. Some breeds are small, while others are quite large. Domestic rabbits typically range in size from 2-4 pounds (0.9-1.8 kg) for small breeds, 4-8 pounds (1.8-3.6 kg) for medium-sized breeds, and 8-12 pounds (3.6-5.4 kg) for larger breeds.

Some of the larger breeds of domestic rabbits, such as the Flemish Giant and the Checkered Giant, can weigh up to 15-20 pounds (6.8-9.1 kg) or more. It is important to note that the size of a rabbit can also be affected by factors such as diet, genetics, and overall health.

In the wild, the size of a rabbit can also vary depending on the species and their habitat. For example, the pygmy rabbit, which is found in North America, is the smallest rabbit species and typically weighs less than a pound (0.45 kg). On the other hand, the European hare, which is not a true rabbit but is closely related, can weigh up to 7-14 pounds (3.2-6.4 kg).
