Rex (Standard)

The Rex rabbit breed, also known as the Standard Rex, is a medium-sized breed of domestic rabbit that originated in France in the early 20th century. It was developed for its fur, which has a plush, velvety texture and comes in a variety of colors, including black, blue, chocolate, lilac, castor, opal, red, and white.

The Rex rabbit has a distinctive appearance, with a rounded head, short ears, and a muscular body with a broad chest and strong hindquarters. The fur is dense and plush, with a velvet-like texture and no guard hairs, making it very soft to the touch. The Rex rabbit is also known for its calm and friendly temperament, and it can make a good pet for families or individuals who are looking for a gentle, easygoing companion.

In addition to being a popular breed for fur production, the Rex rabbit has also been used for meat and as a show rabbit. It has a lifespan of around 5 to 7 years, and requires regular grooming to maintain its plush coat and overall health.
