Harlequin

The Harlequin rabbit is a medium-sized breed of domestic rabbit that was developed in France in the 1880s. They are known for their unique and striking coat pattern, which is made up of alternating bands of color. There are two recognized varieties of Harlequin rabbits: the Magpie Harlequin and the Japanese Harlequin.

The Magpie Harlequin has a white base coat with black and orange bands, while the Japanese Harlequin has a white base coat with blue and black bands. The color bands on both varieties should be distinct and clearly defined, with no blending of colors.

In terms of size, Harlequin rabbits typically weigh between 6 and 9 pounds, with a compact, muscular body and a rounded head. They have upright ears that are medium in length, and their eyes are round and bright.

Harlequin rabbits are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, and they make great pets for families with children. They are also popular show rabbits, and are often entered in competitions for their unique coat pattern and overall appearance.

Like all rabbits, Harlequins require a balanced diet, plenty of exercise, and regular grooming to stay healthy and happy. With proper care and attention, a Harlequin rabbit can make a wonderful and beloved pet for many years to come.
